3D Printing for the Classroom
Learn new technologies, drive student engagement and cut costs
Service Description
Most schools already have 3D printers, and teachers know they can produce intricate, high-detail models — but slow print times and limited machine numbers often make whole-class projects impractical. This course shows you how to unlock their real potential. Across the day, you’ll explore the full landscape of 3D printing technologies, then deep-dive into the FDM printers common in schools. You’ll learn how to use them strategically to create custom jigs, fixtures, and moulds — fast, versatile tools that let students work hands-on without waiting hours for a single part to print. We’ll cover slicing strategies, CAD workflows, and 3D scanning, then move straight into practical design and fabrication. By the end of the day, you’ll have classroom-ready jigs and moulds that can be reused year after year, multiplying the impact of your printer and giving students more opportunities to make, test, and learn.
