Professional Development Workshop
3D Printing in the Classroom
3D printers are an incredible classroom resource. They can create components with almost limitless complexity, use a range of materials, and are safe enough for students to experiment with. But without the right skills, they can be slow and tricky to use, which often leads to their full potential being under utilized.
This hands-on workshop will provide you with the confidence to keep your printer running smoothly and the skills to design and print classroom-ready models, jigs, prototypes, and moulds. You will learn how to make the most of your 3-D printer to boost classroom creativity and efficiency while keeping students engaged and safe.
The day will include a blend of theory and practice.
-
Morning: Understand how 3-D printers work, explore common issues, and learn the best way to source and splice printable resources.
-
Afternoon: Get hands-on experience with practical applications, using jigs to create wooden designs, moulding with wax, silicone, and plaster. You will finish the day with a set of resources to inspire your students.

Classroom Tools
Working with NZ Technology Teachers, we found that students need precise, affordable tools, jigs, and fixtures to create high-quality wooden projects using only hand tools as power tools aren’t permitted for early stage learners.
In response, we’ve created a growing range of classroom-friendly tools now used in schools across the country.
If you don’t see what you need below, get in touch. We are always happy to collaborate on new ideas for the classroom.
